Cruella Interviewed in The Maine Switch 06.28.2008
An interivew with Cruella is featured in this week's issue of The Maine Switch, a local weekly. Interview Amy Martin wrote "I interviewed Melynda last September, when she was beginning her battle. I wanted to find out how her first post-cancer gig went, what the new material is like and what’s in store for the band." You can read the interview here.

New Band Promo Photos 06.11.2008
By Blood Alone has been working with an incredibly talented local photographer named Rene Braun, and the end result, our new promotional photos, are now online and available for download here. We can't say enough nice things about Rene's work: visit his site, www.widereach.net, and check it out for yourselves.

Publicity in the UK 05.07.2008
By Blood Alone is now working with TwoSideMoon/SLW Promotions, who will handle our PR for the UK, (and elsewhere to a lesser extent). The Publicists, Nicky and Sonia, are experienced long-term music journalists and are good eggs as well. We feel quite confident in their gameplan to expand By Blood Alone's sphere of influence.

Seas of Blood Available at Amazon.com! 05.07.2008
After months of haranguing, Seas of Blood is finally available on Amazon.com! Surprisingly, Amazon's stock sold out before we had a chance to announce this, so we can only assume that people were constantly checking amazon for it. But don't worry - more stock is on the way, so you can place your orders here.

RETAIL: Melodicrevolution.com 05.07.2008
Seas of Blood is now available through Melodicrevolution.com, a progressive rock specialty retailer run by the folks who are putting on the Power of Prog Festival in June. Though they do carry other genre's, their offering of independantly released prog is quite thorough. Click here to vist their site and purchase Seas of Blood.

Review in Progression Magazine 05.07.2008
By Blood Alone has received a very comlimentary review in Progression Magazine, considered by many to be the present-day bible of Progressive Rock. (Of the 350 cds submitted. only 150 were reviewed.) Progression awards 0 to 4 stars in four categories: Sound, Composition, Musicianship, and Performance, for a possible total of 16. We got a 12.5. Since many signed acts received similar scores, we feel we are defientely on the right track. Click here to read the review.

Interview By Mick Mercer 04.09.2008
By Blood Alone was recently interviewed by english Goth officianado Mick Mercer for issue 43 of his monthly publication The Mick. Mick has decidedly old-school goth tastes, but our unusual take on the goth/metal hybrid has piqued his curiosity and his interview questions were quite perceptive. (and he's a good egg as well.) Click here to read the interview and download a copy of Mick's new issue.

Nominated in 2008 Best Music Poll 03.16.2008
Just like in 2006 and 2007, By Blood Alone has been nominated in the 2008 Portland Phoenix Best Music Poll for "Best Category Defying Act" and our singer Cruella has been nominated for "Best Female Vocalist". Many of our very talented compatriots have been nominated in other categories as well. So, now we need your help - please vote for us! Click here to vote.

Website and myspace page redesign 03.16.2008
As you can see, we have signigicantly redesigned our website, as well as our myspace page. Please surf around and let us know what you think!

Interview in Portland Monthly 02.14.2008
An interview of Cruella ran in the December issue of Portland Monthly, detailing her ordeal as a musician and artist battling Breast Cancer. At the time of publication the interview was edited considerably, but now the complete interview is available here. It’s quite fascinating stuff.

Band Update 02.08.2008
By Blood Alone may have been laying low for a few months but that does not mean we have not been busy. Promo’s have been shipped to Europe, North America, South America, and Asia. Reviews are trickling in, almost all positive and some absolutely glowing (though there was one “these guys fucking suck” that we hope no one reads.) CDs are selling in the US, Canada, Germany, and Japan.

November and December saw Jack, Runtt, Jenny and Graveside start to work on new material while Cruella was in the thick of her cancer treatments, though she was able to listen to demo’s and write lyrics during all this. Now the treatment cycle is approaching it’s end and Cruella is back at rehearsal with a new-found determination and our new tunes are shaping up nicely. We’re confident that they will blow everyone away when we debut them in May.

Post-hiatus show booked 02.08.2008
By Blood Alone will perform it’s first post-hiatus show at Geno’s on Saturday, May 31st. Details are TBA, but we can say that we will be unveiling a set of all-new material (or maybe almost all-new, as we may play one “classic”.) It’s also possible we may play a secret warm-up show a few weeks before the 31st just to shake off the rust. Keep checking the dates page for more details as they solidify.

Interview on Live4Metal.com 02.08.2008
Cruella and John Graveside had a grand time being interviewed by Steve Green, editor of Live4metal.com. Unlike most interviews, Steve asked insightful questions and is an all-around good egg. Click here to read the interview.

Many reviews for Seas of Blood 02.08.2008
During our hiatus we have been hard at work promoting Seas of Blood to the international press, and it is paying off. We have numerous reviews, the most glowing of which we have posted here.
